Survey/CAD/Modeling Technician for Civil Excavation Company

Job description:

  • Surveying Expertise: Utilize advanced surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and digital levels to accurately measure and map terrain features, boundaries, and underground utilities.

  • CAD Proficiency: Translate survey data into detailed CAD drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. Collaborate with engineers and designers to create comprehensive plans and models for excavation and construction.

  • Modeling and Visualization: Use cutting-edge software to create 3D models and visualizations of project sites, enabling stakeholders to visualize the project’s progression and outcomes.

  • Data Management: Organize and maintain survey data, CADD and models in a structured manner for easy accessibility and future reference.

  • Problem Solving: Analyze survey data discrepancies and resolve technical challenges to ensure alignment with project requirements and deadlines.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and field crews to provide accurate information and support throughout the project lifecycle.​​​​​

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Civil engineering, construction engineering or construction management degree preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Previous experience and proficiency in computers and variety of construction related software, surveying techniques, CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D), and 3D modeling tools (e.g., Revit, SketchUp). Within the civil construction industry is preferred.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in managing projects and in pre-construction is required.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work, from survey measurements to CAD drawings and 3D models.

  • Ability to work with owners, engineers, clients, employees, vendors, suppliers, customers and the general public.
